Conference news and updates
ACM SIGSPATIAL and the Organizing Committee are closely monitoring the developments with the COVID-19 pandemic. We are actively investigating different feasible options that will ensure both the safety and well-being of all the participants, as well as maintain the quality of the conference. We will take into consideration the dynamics of possible restrictions on travel at different geo-political scales and ensure that every accepted paper gets to be presented either in-situ or online. Please check the webpage regularly for any updates, which we will make sure to disseminate in all our listservs and DBWORLD.

The ACM SIGSPATIAL International Conference on Advances in Geographic Information Systems 2020 (ACM SIGSPATIAL 2020), the twenty eighth edition, will be held in Seattle, Washington, USA, November 3-6, 2020. It began as a series of symposia and workshops starting in 1993 with, the aim of bringing together researchers, developers, users, and practitioners in relation to novel systems based on geo- spatial data and knowledge, and fostering interdisciplinary discussions and research in all aspects of geographic information systems. The conference provides a forum for original research contributions covering all conceptual, design, and implementation aspects of geospatial data ranging from applications, user interfaces, and visualization to data storage and query processing and indexing. The conference is the premier annual event of the ACM Special Interest Group on Spatial Information (ACM SIGSPATIAL). Researchers, students, and practitioners are invited to submit their contributions to ACM SIGSPATIAL 2020. As in 2019, the conference is going to have firm submission deadlines; there will be no deadline extensions. Submission of a meaningful abstract by the abstract deadline is a precondition for paper submission. The author list is considered to be final after the submission deadline and no changes are allowed for accepted papers.
