First ACM SIGSPATIAL New Researcher Symposium

The SIGSPATIAL New Researcher Symposium (NRS) is held to advice graduate students and junior researchers on pursuing a career in spatial and geographical information systems. The workshop is designed to be enlightening, entertaining, and informative and will appeal to the audience at all levels. The workshop will consist of one or more panels and every year the workshop will have a topic to focus on. This year, the topic is "Define a research topic that stands out." We will invite panelists in diverse career stages and research styles to discuss this topic. The panel will start with a short presentation from each panelist where they give their own perspective based on their experience. After that, we will open the floor for informal discussion, questions, and comments from the audience.
